In the 1980’s Al Chandler, owner of TruckVault, ran a construction company in Seattle, WA. An employee created a drawer-system for the bed of his truck, very similar to today’s TruckVault. Al decided to use this idea for his own truck. Friends saw his drawer-system and asked for drawers for their own trucks.
Because of this, the idea caught-on and TruckVault was born within 1 year’s time.
By 1995, the first official TruckVault was manufactured, and orders have continued coming in ever since.
As more and more TruckVault products were ordered over the next two years, police, fire and law enforcement agencies discovered TruckVault. Recognizing the significance of this market, TruckVault began, in a small way, to advertise in public safety publications and exhibited for the first time at the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) in Orlando in 1997. Since that time, public safety and law enforcement sales have continued to climb and have been a key to TruckVault’s success.
Today, TruckVault is the most recognized name for vehicle equipment storage solutions in the sports, law enforcement and public safety markets. Now manufacturing in Sedro Woolley, Washington, TruckVault employs over 50 people internally and out-sources locally, further contributing to the U.S. economy.
